The trailmaster opened the gates on the system today. There were 6 blowdowns across corridor 15. Expect early season conditions with stumps and rocks exposed and hiding in the snow. There is no base.
The gate at the end of trail 3 that is on the SVSR system is closed. Fort mountain trails open.
We received about 16″ of light fluffy snow on March 14-15.
The gates were previously closed in late February due to mud season.
The trail master is still at work, so the gates are still closed at Center Rd in Chichester.
The Soucook river is fully open water, no crossing should be attempted.
We hope to get out to assess the trails over the next couple of days, but I am forecasting a lot of blow downs which will greatly slow the opening process.
Please bear with us as we try to get the trails back open.
Remember there is no base under this snow. Expect early season conditions with exposed rocks, stumps and water.
